Salary:  $15.87/hour

    Pay is commensurate with education and experience

Brief Job Description: The Collaboration Prevention Specialist holds primary responsibility for building collaboration at the community level to support the completion of the Regional Prevention Center (RPC) work plan and meet goals of the State Opioid Response (SOR) grant. Our RPC team is committed to providing quality prevention services to communities who are working to prevent substance misuse among youth.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Demonstrating leadership skills, knowledge and commitment to overarching principals and mission of LifeSkills Behavioral Health Division.
  • Providing technical assistance to substance use prevention coalitions and other organizations on evidence-based strategies and the Strategic Prevention Framework.
  • Planning, coordinating, and implementing trainings to coalitions and other prevention-service providing organizations focused on substance use and related consequences.
  • Working collaboratively with other staff members of the Regional Prevention Center to ensure alignment of collaboration efforts with needs assessment driven work plan.
  • Developing and implementing region-wide strategies that promote collaboration.
  • Supporting collection of community-level needs assessment data through evaluation activities such as focus groups, interviews, and environmental scans.
  • Working collaboratively with members of the statewide SOR team and other prevention specialists to advance prevention efforts across the state.
  • Attending and positively participating in required team, agency, and state meetings and trainings.
  • Entering all service data in the Prevention Data System

Work Hours

  • Schedule primarily day shift (occasional nights and weekends required)

Education and Experience

  • Position requires candidate to have a minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in a human services field (e.g., Addiction, Behavioral Sciences, Social Work, Psychology, Counseling, Public Health, Sociology, Education)
  • Two years+ of experience working in a human services field
  • Ability to apply for a Certified Prevention Specialist certification within two years of hire

Qualifications

  • Possession of a valid driver’s license and access to reliable means of transportation for job-related use required
  • Regional and statewide travel required.
  • Proven ability to build relationships, trust and deepen connections with diverse people and groups.
  • Skilled in the areas of organization, verbal/written communication, facilitation, conflict resolution, presentation preparation, and report development.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Ability to follow through on assignments with minimal oversight, and using planning and problem solving abilities.
