Title: Prevention Specialist I

Pay: $15.87 an hour
Brief Job Description:
- Provide consultation and technical assistance to substance use prevention coalitions and other organizations, on evidence-based strategies and the Strategic Prevention Framework in the Barren River Region, who are working to prevent substance misuse among youth;
- Working collaboratively with other staff members of the Regional Prevention Center to ensure alignment of collaboration efforts with needs assessment driven work plan, CMHC work plan, YE deliverables, and Collaboration deliverables;
- Supporting collection of community-level needs assessment data through evaluation activities such as focus groups, interviews, and environmental scans;
- Ability to make self-initiated contact with multiple stakeholders;
- Entering all service data in the Prevention Data System.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in a human services field REQUIRED (e.g., Addiction, Behavioral Sciences, Social Work, Psychology, Counseling, Public Health, Sociology, Education)
- Two years+ of experience working in a human services field
- Ability to apply for a Certified Prevention Specialist certification within two years of hire.
- Possession of a valid driver's license and access to reliable means of transportation for job-related use required
- Regional and statewide travel required
- Proven ability to build relationships, trust and deepen connections with diverse people and groups.
- Skilled in the areas of organization, verbal/written communication, facilitation, conflict resolution, presentation preparation, and report development.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Ability to follow through on assignments with minimal oversight, and using planning and problem-solving abilities.
