Title: Certified Medication Aide

Worksite: Adult Crisis Stabilization Unit

County: Warren

Hours Status: Full-Time, Part-Time

Pay Range: $13.50 Hourly w/ Shift differential

Brief Job Description:

Provides monitoring direct care services at the ACSU 24 hours. Certified Medication Aides are responsible for ensuring safety of residents and maintaining a therapeutic milieu. In addition Certified Medication Aides respond to crisis calls, process paperwork related to various evaluations and interact with individuals walking into the facility seeking crisis services. Lastly, Certified Medication Aides document and monitor client self-administration and work with the supervising LPN, RN and APRN to be a lead in terms of medication issues when other medically trained staff are not on shift.

Essential Functions:

1. Supervise residents ensuring they are safe and secure at all times

2. Implement milieu management system

3. Orient clients to the unit and ensure clients belongings are searched and secured with client present

4. Document residential daily activities

5. Answer Helpline and National Suicide Prevention Helpline calls, documenting calls as required

6. Take phone referrals, conduct admission screens and complete admission materials

7. Take phone referrals for decrim and jail triage evaluations, notify evaluator, assist with telehealth when relevant, assist with paperwork

8. Conduct psycho-ed groups and recreational activities

9. Assist residents in utilizing acceptable coping skills

10. Assist with general cleanliness of the facility

11. Supervise medication self-administration

12. Complete CPR/First Aid, de-escalation/crisis management, and other trainings offered by the ACSU to effectively provide services to residents

QUALIFICATION:

Minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent. Must have a valid driver’s license and proof of insurance. Must be a Kentucky Certified Medication Aide. Must have or obtain certification in first aid and cardiopulmonary resuscitation.

The schedule is negotiable but to include nights or weekends.

***All 30+ hour positions will be enrolled in our company retirement program through the Kentucky Public Pension Authority (KPPA); six percent (6%) of your gross income will be deducted from each check. All LifeSkills Inc. / Pennyroyal Inc. employees who work 30 hours or more a week are required to participate in this program.

The employee contribution rate is set by the State General Assembly. Employee contributions are deposited into member accounts. These contributions to the retirement system are currently tax deferred. Member accounts are kept confidential between the member and the Kentucky Retirement Systems.
