POSITION SUMMARY
Provide quality psychotherapy to children who are experiencing mental illness or behavior problems. Services are provided in a variety of settings including the clinic, school, and home, with an emphasis on home-based services. Responsible for implementing TR summer program during the summers.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Master’s degree in social work, mental health counseling, marriage and family, or psychology and pursuit of a licensure or certification under a professional board.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work within a team environment.
- Ability to work independently regarding scheduling time, organizing workload, completing a variety of task in a timely manner, and functioning within a school setting with professionals from other disciplines in a cooperative and helpful manner.
- Experience working with children with severe emotional disturbances in a psychotherapy setting preferred.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Provide direct service/ psychotherapy to children mental health clients, including group, individual, family, collateral, consultation, and psychoeducation.
- Maintain agency expectation for productivity.
- Complete intake/screening/assessment process.
- Develop person-centered treatment plans for clients, and complete all required documentation, including OTRs and other paperwork associated with service authorization.
- Complete all correspondence in a timely fashion.
- Participate in clinical staffing/treatment meetings providing feedback on all pertinent cases.
- Maintain agency expectation for productivity.
- Document all services provided in accordance with agency standards.
- Maintain positive, professional relationships with referral sources, clients and coworkers, adhering to Code of Ethics and agency policies.
- Handle crisis situations as they arise.
- Maintain an expert knowledge base regarding current practices and research.
- Flexible work schedule (to include evenings and weekends).
- On call, as needed, for ACSU mobile/walk-in services.
- Utilize referral sources and receive referrals as appropriate.
- Be a team member on agency and local committees as needed/assigned.
- Fulfill agency and/or board requirements (including but not limited to exams, education, and supervision).
